santa pics, tree shopping and maki's holiday party

last friday, we took maki to americana for pics with santa. he wasn't as happy with santa as he was last year. he waved hi but he actually cried when santa put him on his lap. :( he stopped crying after a minute or so and we were able to take a few pictures. he wasn't smiling in them but at least he's not crying - that's all we could hope for! the santa house setup at americana is super nice. we'll definitely be back again next year...

later that afternoon, we drove to hollywood to pick out our first LA xmas tree. we went to a lot called mr. jingles christmas tree. the people who work there are super nice and very helpful. we were able to pick out a tree in a few minutes! maki loved touching and running around the trees and playing chase with me.

after dropping off the tree at home, we went to his daycare for their holiday party. we knew there was a program but not really sure what maki would be doing. his 1-2 year old class did a xmas song with some instruments. no one was really dancing or singing - so funny. they were very cute though. we noticed that the 2-3 year old class was pretty much the same so it seems we have to wait a couple more years for maki to really participate in any musical program like that. either way, we were proud, happy parents! we joined the buffet dinner afterwards but couldn't stay too long because maki wanted out of there (fridays are his days off from daycare so he must have been confused).
