meet our new baby

we've had our new baby now for about 2 weeks or so...  she came home with us on august 4th.  she's everything we've been wanting and then some.  not baby #2 yet, but our new toyota prius!  i'm going to give her a girl's name because i'm outnumbered in this household.  isn't she a beauty?!!  we love our new car so far.  very quiet and gas-efficient!  yay.  but yes, it's soooo EL LAY this car.  :)

i'm huge... it's getting hard to hide the bump at work. but i want to wait until end of sept to tell them.  i just started this job at the end of july and still want to establish myself before i let the cat out of the bag.  they're very happy with my work so far but still want to buy some time...  not sure how long i can hold off though.  it's getting very obvious.  i'm trying to slouch or cover up with a notebook....  either my coworkers are talking behind my back or just think i have a really big, fat belly!!!

had my 16-week dr's appointment today.  not a very eventful visit except we heard the baby's fast heartbeat.  :)  also had another blood draw.  can't wait for my 20-week appt to see the anatomy scan.  i told dr. brown about all my issues (pelvic separation, hip and tailbone pain) and she mentioned they may all be related.  she recommends i see a PT to help me strengthen my pelvic muscles and tummy.  my nipples have been painfully sore since i hit my 2nd trimester.  with my first pregnancy, they started hurting as soon as i got pregnant.  a little delayed this pregnancy but pelvic separation came much earlier.  boo hoo.

maki has both of his upper molars now and his bottom ones are starting to come out.  i haven't really noticed that they've been bothering him.  he had a couple of bad days a couple of weeks ago - didn't want to eat or even take a bath - so not sure that was related to teething.  he came home from the daycare today with a scratch and a bruise on his face and the teachers didn't know how he got them.  what the heck?!!!  there's a 4:1 (4 kids to 1 teacher) ratio there...  how can they not see how my son got those on his face?!!!  i'm p*ssed.

baby love knows nose and eyes now (learned belly a long time ago) but he points at ours, not his face.  i'm starting to teach him mouth, teeth and hair...  he's starting to say "dog" again.  for the longest time, that's all he used to say and when he learned "cat", every animal switched to that.  now "dog" is back in the rotation.  haha

i really wish i only worked 4 days a week.  2-day weekend is not long enough to spend time with my family....  i really hope i can pull working only mon-thur next year.  *fingers crossed*
