happy new year & 37 weeks

happy new year!  we celebrated with family and maki made it only until 9:30pm.  hopefully next year he can stay up til midnight....  i can't believe it's now 2014.  the year our 2nd baby will be born. actually, we're in the home stretch!  37 weeks - i can't believe it.  this pregnancy flew by because maki keeps us busy.  ;) when i went to my last dr's appt, the baby's heartbeat sounded strong.  i passed my group b strep test.  dr. brown will check my cervix at my 38-week appt to see if i'm dilated.  at my 36-week appt, we had an ultrasound. our baby was already estimated at 6lbs 15oz then.  YIKES!  there's a + or - 1lb there so i'm hoping it's not another pound on top of that.  the baby will gain 1/2 lb per week so i really don't want to try to push out a 8 lb baby.  maki was 6lb 6oz when he was born  and i already felt the ring of fire then.  i'm a little scared... but i'm still eating my sweets so whatever is coming, i totally deserve it. :(

maki says so many words now.  here are the cutest ones:

• "i pooped"! - but he says this even when he didn't (one time he did have poop though - yay!)
• "shhhhhhh" - to let us know to be quiet
• "cheese!" while taking a pic of papa on his ipad 
• "look at that!" - while pointing to something on his book

 he's a total sponge right now... vocabulary explosion.  he remembers and can usually repeat whatever we say.  so adorable!
