hello from the aguilars

meet the aguilar family:

mama and papa

mik and i have been friends since 1996.  at a friend's wedding in oct 2008, we found ourselves both single and "mingling".  same thing happened at other friends' weddings in feb and august 2009.    by halloween, we decided he would move from SF to NY to be with me.  in january 2010, mik moved to NY and the rest is history!  :)  we had our first child in march 2012 and have been loving the journey of parenthood.  in march 2013, we moved to LA so maki can be closer to his cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles.  we got married at a civil ceremony in norwalk on june 10, 2013 and plan to have a church wedding in a few years.

malakai lucas

malakai or better known as maki (or makidoodoo, baby love, chubby cheeks, makster, fatty gumdrops, two swirls) is now 16 months.  he was born on march 11, 2012 - year of the dragon like his papa.  he has turned our lives upside down for the better and brought so much happiness and love - words cannot explain.  we absolutely adore him to pieces.  check out his blog from conception until now here: thedragonproject.blogspot.com.

our 10-week old peanut

due around february 4, 2014, our newest addition is now ~10 weeks old.  we are excited to find out the gender later this month.  we haven't shared the great news with a lot of people yet but hope to do so after we receive the materniT21 results around 12 weeks.  with maki, i blogged about every step of my pregnancy and his first year.  i plan to do the same here with our 2nd baby love and also blog about our family in general.
